The

Latta Arcade was modeled after European shopping arcades and alleyways where guests could stroll, sip, and eat. Over the next year, guests will see The ALLEY take shape through updates to honor that past while bringing in contemporary design elements to enhance your experience.

Evolution

Our century-old art deco building is one of the rare early 20th century commercial buildings still standing in Uptown. Charlotte developer Edward Latta built it in 1914 to house the offices for his construction company and a shopping arcade. Upon opening, it was home to six stores fronting South Tryon Street, and sixteen more on the first floor extending to the rear of the building. We are pleased to build upon the tradition of commerce and community in this storied space.
